A mere 2 minutes and $37 later, I received the worst haircut of my life. I rarely leave reviews, but this atrocious cut has compelled me to share my experience. I could have done a better job blindfolded. If you are considering visiting this salon, think again. I am now forced to spend more money elsewhere to fix the mess created after being scammed out of $37.
First visit to the salon on Thursday June 13th, around 3.30pm. The salon was quite empty with only 3 hairdressers available, so my 11-year-old child sat down immediately. I spoke to a stylist, requesting to thin out the back, add layers to the sides and back, and adjust the fringe from chin length to a more suitable length that wouldn't obstruct his vision. His hair is thick and forms tight curls when cut properly. After about 10 minutes in the chair, I turned to check on his progress. To my dismay, the stylist was brushing his hair roughly, displaying no regard for his comfort. The final result showed minimal change in the shape of his hair, just a slight trim. I politely asked for more to be taken off. The stylist's response was, "Well, I don't want to cut it three times! From where, the back, the front, the sides??" I clarified that I only wanted a bit more off all over for tidying. What followed was a haphazard, careless cutting session that left his hair looking butchered with uneven lengths and no style. The stylist seemed more concerned with rushing through the process than delivering a quality result with care and passion. I am utterly disappointed. The stylist cutting my hair was understanding and not at fault, but the language barriers and lack of customer service made this visit extremely unsatisfactory. We will not be returning. Ever.
During my time living in the North Island, this salon was my preferred choice for a haircut. Upon returning to Auckland, I decided to revisit for a trim. In the past, it had been an excellent establishment with caring stylists who provided top-notch service and were exceptionally friendly. However, upon my recent visit, I noticed that all the stylists were new. There was no longer the familiar wait that used to be a sign of a good salon. Once seated, the stylist began cutting my hair before I could even finish explaining my desired style. The entire process took less than 10 minutes, devoid of any communication or customer service. The service felt cold, rushed, and mediocre. While the cut wasn't a disaster, it certainly did not meet the standards I had come to expect. Despite my previous fondness for this salon, I have decided never to return.
