My last hairdresser shifted towns. My hair became thick and dry after 8 months without a trim. I decided to try a new stylist. I booked a dry cut with Aroha. I washed my hair and went to the salon with slightly damp hair so she could cut my medium texture 2b-3b curl type. I showed her pictures and specifically asked for long layers without thinning during the consultation. She listened and mentioned that thinning can lead to frizz in curly/wavy hair. Unfortunately, during the cut, she started using thinning shears about 2/3 of the way through. She said it was just to frame my face, but then proceeded to thin out the bottom. Afterward, she straightened it with a dryer and round brush. She continued to thin with regular shears from the midsection down. In conclusion, it would be a nice cut if my hair was STRAIGHT. However, on my natural WAVY/CURLY hair, it turned out far from nice. I now have a frizzy mushroom/jellyfish look. Absolutely shocking haircut and beard trim. Asked for a haircut and they just did one straight cut across the back of my head with no layers or style. The mustache trim was completely uneven, it's very noticeable. I suffer from depression and this experience just made me feel even worse. I strongly advise against going to this barber, it's a complete disaster. I feel ashamed of how I look now. Was warmly greeted by Jack and the team. Spent hours reading reviews before booking my appointment, determined to visit this salon. Unaware that they were the team that had relocated from Queen Street (the salon I was trying to book into but couldn't find), I used my "new customer full head highlights package" voucher. Only had to pay an extra $45 for toner due to my dark hair, knowing it would take multiple sessions to achieve the blonde shade I desired. Held back tears of joy upon leaving, thoroughly impressed and delighted with my new haircut and color. Had avoided salons for a while due to dissatisfaction with previous cuts and colors, so I was quite nervous initially. But wow! Visiting Vivo at Britomart was definitely the best salon experience I've had! The staff are welcoming, friendly, and warm. You're even greeted by lovely large plants throughout the salon 🥰 Loved the unique setup of this salon compared to the usual ones (mostly male hairdressers, which I absolutely love). Jack is extremely knowledgeable and will guide you through the process, ensuring the color turns out even better than expected. Peter provided helpful recommendations for future treatments with other hairdressers here in the Bay of Plenty. Highly recommend visiting Vivo at Britomart! The atmosphere is spot on, and I can assure you'll leave swishing your hair like in Pantene ads haha. Love these folks, wish they were located in the BOP region as this would be my go-to salon for sure.

I popped in wanting a fringe, but the whole thing turned into a total flop.
First off, I was taken aback when the barber started straightening my hair instead of the usual wet cut.
As he snipped away at my fringe, I noticed it wasn't coming out straight as I'd asked. When I voiced my disappointment and clearly said I didn't want my hair straightened, he seemed lost and resorted to using the iron to create waves.
Things went downhill from there. My fringe was all wonky, and despite him saying it would settle, it didn't. The whole fringe stuck up, making me look daft.About
