I've been in thrice now (maybe four). They never fail to impress here at Caleb McLeod. They truly heed your wishes. My dye looks superb and the styling post-cut and colour makes you feel like a supermodel! The brew and scrumptious treats are delightful and a lovely gesture. I popped in wanting a fringe, but the whole thing turned into a total flop.
First off, I was taken aback when the barber started straightening my hair instead of the usual wet cut.
As he snipped away at my fringe, I noticed it wasn't coming out straight as I'd asked. When I voiced my disappointment and clearly said I didn't want my hair straightened, he seemed lost and resorted to using the iron to create waves.
Things went downhill from there. My fringe was all wonky, and despite him saying it would settle, it didn't. The whole fringe stuck up, making me look daft.About

I booked in to get a Keratin treatment on Friday afternoon at the Grey Lynn branch. The communication on arrival was very minimal. I believe that I was given hair straightening with much stronger chemicals instead of Keratin or that the treatment was not done correctly. After the first application, it was washed out very quickly, when I asked why, my hairdresser said it was because my hair was too dry. My hair was not too dry to start with and Keratin has never dried it out before. Also at the end of the treatment, the product was washed out entirely instead of only partially washed out. The hairdresser put a conditioning treatment through my hair before letting me go, because it was so dry. I should have questioned more, but it's very difficult to do so when your hair is in someone else hands. I've had to go to my regular hairdresser and buy nearly $100 of products to keep my fried hair in decent condition. It is dried out, the colour is faded, and it's frizzy in the middle with some breakage at the back. My hairdresser was surprised at how dry it now is. I attempted to leave a message on Instagram, but it did not allow this. The treatment took 4 1/2 hours instead of 3 hours. I would not recommend this hairdresser for this treatment. Stopped in while on holiday to get a haircut and a beard trim. I’m usually hesitant to try new barbers, but was in desperate need of a trim. After the cut, I told Jess if I could I would fly her back to the States to cut my hair from now on. One of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. If you’re in the area, go see Jess.
