I've visited many salons in different countries, but Serena was the first to suggest a cc curl for my lashes, and I absolutely adored the result. Not only is she skilled at perfecting lashes, but she also provides recommendations on lash types, shapes, and lengths tailored to your eyes. Serena even went the extra mile by accommodating me twice in one day at the salon! Overall, the atmosphere was cozy and calming, perfect for getting the ideal lashes that complement your eyes. There were no hidden costs, the result was beautiful. She applied nail patches before working on my nails, and since my nails weren't too long, the outcome was unexpectedly impressive and I'm very pleased. Honestly, I really wanted to enjoy this spot but my experiences with Brazilian waxing here have been below par on multiple occasions. I've tried 3 different therapists and each time, they've missed spots, disregarded my preferred shape, and despite requesting hard wax, Ruby still used strips for most of the Brazilian. There should be an option for extended appointment slots so that if a client prefers hard wax, the esthetician can take their time as I understand it requires more precision to let the wax set.

Received an e-file manicure with gel polish. Highly recommend this place, service was clean and meticulous. Staff were friendly and took great care with manicure. Equipment comes in individual packages, so a new file and scissors is used per manicure, so you don't have to worry about cross contamination between customers. This manicure process involves doing each nail individually, so it takes longer than usual manicures. The place itself was clean and very organized. Watch out for Rick the hair guru. I was 15 minutes late for my appointment due to heavy traffic. Sadly, with no remorse, they overreacted, were rude, and continued to give me attitude throughout my visit, venting their frustration on me. There were hints of discrimination when I mentioned I was coming from South Auckland. They couldn’t care less for my explanation or my apology for the lateness.
Then I was informed that curtain bangs and face-framing styles aren't suitable for wavy hair, even though I've had these styles before. This whole ordeal could have been avoided if they weren't so petty, unprofessional, and lacked basic customer service. My experience in the salon sadly didn't align with the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere I've seen on social media about Commune and its representation for all individuals, ethnicities, and genders. I would have gladly rebooked, but instead, I was left feeling unwelcome, judged, uncomfortable, and let down. I have never faced this kind of mistreatment from any other service provider.
