An excellent spot to visit for some stunning vistas of the Auckland harbor and city. The trek can be a tad challenging on a scorching day but the views at the conclusion make the exertion worthwhile. You can explore the artillery emplaced at the peak.
Superb vistas and it's a breeze to reach from central Auckland. The ferry ride takes just around 10 minutes, followed by a 15-minute walk.
I happened upon wandering around Devonport and stumbled my way up to Mount Victoria. A brief stroll and somewhat steep ascent but the panoramic views are well worth it. You can investigate the historic fort here and dash down the incline.
