I'm let down by the self-service orders once again, and it's not my fault. My order wasn't in the self-service locker despite ordering online. I was informed that there was a mix-up with another order, with no apology offered. In a previous order, I was told they couldn't locate it, but after some digging on the computer, a staff member found it at the front of the store. This isn't the first time I've had issues like this. I'm starting to lose faith in Countdown in the valley.
Overall, a pleasant shopping experience, except for the higher prices of vegetables and fruits compared to other supermarkets. Biscuits and snack chips are more reasonably priced here than at other supermarkets. They always seem to have the best deals on skincare products I use and ice cream. We particularly love the large scented candle they stock - sweet pea and peony scent is delightful.
Tonight we popped into the shop, encountered some tech hitches, but the crew had it sorted. Top-notch service and a friendly cashier. However, a bit of a downer when I stepped outside to my ute and spotted a young New Zealand boy braving the elements to retrieve trolleys that were piled up in all the bays. So, my son and I assisted your staff member in gathering the trolleys. As a parent, I find it concerning that this young lad was out there alone in the rain; for safety reasons, he should have had a buddy with him for assistance. It's pretty dark out there, and let me tell you, cars don't stop until it's too late. My experience in that car park tonight nearly resulted in me getting hit twice by reckless drivers, so please consider safety before sending someone out there solo.
