One aspect of my Varda learning experience that stands out is my instructor, Kahu from Varda Barbers! To be frank, without his guidance and the support of Whaea Jackie, I may have considered dropping out. Kahu is straightforward, supportive, and attentive to our needs as students. He goes above and beyond to address our concerns and find solutions. Despite his busy schedule, he patiently provides examples for those of us who may struggle with learning, particularly when it comes to mastering cutting angles. Kahu is a genuine and empathetic tutor who truly cares about our progress. And no, he didn't ask me to write this! Also, the parking situation for students is quite challenging.
Varda fosters a supportive space for aspiring hairdressers of the next generation, empowering us to embrace our authentic selves as we acquire new skills and techniques. This environment aids in our personal growth and professional development within the hairdressing industry. In addition to hairdressing, Varda offers courses in Barbering, makeup, and Salon Support, delivered by a diverse range of tutors with unique skill sets and teaching styles. This inclusive approach ensures that every individual is valued and heard.
