The store is much more spacious now and is well cleaned. There are still some good deals and the prices are reasonable, but I've noticed that it's not as great on cheap prices as it used to be. The staff weren't very helpful when my trolley collapsed, and it was actual customers who came to my aid as the staff just walked past me. I was quite unhappy about that. The parking is okay, and there is good access for disabled people. I found that they don't do much when a complaint is lodged. I've been a customer at this New World in Manurewa for years, and it was appalling to be stopped by security at the entrance, accused of stealing something. Even after proving payment with a receipt and a camera check, there was no apology. I also noticed two thefts on the camera footage that the staff missed. I wasn't pleased with how the situation was handled. After years of shopping here, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Everyone has their own opinions, but this was my experience.

When compared to the New World in the city on College Hill, this one falls short. Is it because this New World is situated in South Auckland? Come on.

My first in-store experience last week was shocking as the new security guards approached me and my partner as we were leaving. The first guard addressed my partner as "bro," and the second initiated a security check, asking for a receipt. I explained that I didn't print one as we had just scanned and paid for our items at the self-serve checkout. The second guard then pointed to something under my partner's shirt, which turned out to be his security ID lanyard. I was deeply offended. I have never been stopped at this New World in Manurewa before, despite being a loyal customer. To be publicly accused of stealing and embarrassed at the door is unacceptable. Know your local customers, know your regulars. And to the second guard, please stop using your phone while working; it's unprofessional. I refuse to return to this store after this incident. I called the next day to speak to the manager about it and I'm still awaiting a response. It seems that public complaints are not taken seriously, so here it is for all to see.
