Been shopping at Howick Countdown since opening, spending $350pw on average. Went in yesterday on Pension Day with Gold Card 5% discount, only one checkout open. Used self-checkout, but Gold Card didn't go through. Went back next day, told had to return same day for discount. Refused refund, so took my $20k p.a. elsewhere to New World.
Closing time's 10pm, but arrived at 9.45pm, not allowed in to buy milk. Rude staff told me to go elsewhere. Unhelpful, unfriendly, lacked empathy.
Great range of groceries at fair prices. Free-flow goods have variety and are well-maintained. Bakery rearrangement makes it easier to find items. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of gluten-free cereals.
