We're Kiwis from Wellington who spend each summer up here for about 9-14 days. This year we've fallen quite ill. We decided to contact and drive into Keri Keri to see the doctors. From the initial phone call with Gaye and then the phone consultation with Sarah... both displayed free and highly professional mannerisms and approaches. We haven't had a miraculous cure to our sickness due to the ramping up of COVID and viruses at the moment... but we've been provided with clear and calm assurance that we can recover, along with measures to ensure our well-being. Thank you, Sarah and Gaye.
I'm very let down by this practice. Once we waited in our car for up to an hour before calling again to inform them we hadn't been seen; my son was 3 months old and had fallen on his head. We were informed they were extremely busy even though the doctor had advised us to come in immediately. Just recently, I took my son in twice over the last two weeks as he was showing serious signs of the flu (he is currently 8 months old), and both times we were dismissed and told he was fine. Once by a doctor and then by a nurse. So, I went to Kawakawa Hospital yesterday and got a 3rd opinion, and the doctor there stated it was good that I brought him in as he has a chest infection! He is now on antibiotics. Also, I must mention the impolite staff at reception; it seems like they never want to assist you or they make you out to be a nuisance. Not pleased at all! I will be changing doctors.
We were made to wait in the car for 45 minutes past our appointment time with 2 sick 2-year-olds who had lost control, so we left before we were able to be seen. Very disappointed with the response provided by the staff. The excuse given was that they were very backed up today, yet they had only been open for less than 3 hours.
