Deceptive owner. I purchased 2 sets of earrings which were fine. Later, my partner got me a pair of pearl earrings and one had a noticeable chip. They claimed all earrings are inspected and suggested it might be a natural flaw, asking us to return them at our own expense. The tone of their response raised suspicions that they might deny the issue and charge us more to get them back, so we decided to bear the cost. When my partner left feedback, the owner falsely claimed the earrings had been used. Our initial assumption of their dishonesty was proven correct. Their lack of understanding during Cyclone Gabrielle (when we had no internet, phone, or power) which prevented me from contacting them immediately after Valentine's Day, is truly disappointing. I advise against shopping here. P.S.: The seal on the package wasn't broken; I opened it to take a photo as evidence. The design and color were fine; the problem was the chip. Additionally, stating on the website that you won't abide by the law if a faulty item is opened is not acceptable. In New Zealand, you are legally obligated to replace or repair items that are not fit for purpose. Since you already mentioned you wouldn't replace chipped or scratched items, why would we return it to you?

Bought pearl earrings for my partner for Valentine's Day. While the price was reasonable, one of the pearls had what seemed to be a chip on the surface, greatly affecting its appearance. Upon discussing the issue and the return policy with the company, they replied, "...due to the natural characteristics of freshwater pearls, their surface can be easily scratched or chipped, and it is not a defect." It might be a natural flaw, but if so, the quality control is evidently lacking. If it is indeed a chip, they may be violating consumer rights as it constitutes a faulty product, yet they are insisting we aren't entitled to a replacement. Given the poor customer service, I suggest avoiding online purchases from this establishment and thoroughly examining any in-person buys.
