01/03/2024 I requested a trim today at about 2:00 pm on my hair and showed her the photo and she agreed. I said just straight short cut. The initial cut was too bad it’s not straight and while I understand that she can’t speak much English that’s okay I asked for someone who can check on her work as I was trying to say it’s not straight and she cut way too short already, she’s already going to blow dry it. I asked her colleague very calmly “do you think she did a good job” she said “no” and spoke in their own language as she was trying to explain to the one that cut my hair maybe how to repair it. I still ended up crying while paying $40 on my trim on the counter.About

Absolutely appalling service by the receptionist on Sunday 2nd June 2024 at 9:40am. My 1-year-old son was struggling to breathe and the receptionist made him wait from 9:40am to 11am despite being informed that he couldn't breathe. He was finally attended to by a nurse, and even the nurse was shocked that the baby had waited that long given the severity of his breathing issues. I phoned to lodge a complaint, but the receptionist seemed indifferent. She refused to let me speak to her manager, declined to provide her name, and abruptly ended the call. I've tried calling back to file a complaint, but the receptionist won't answer my calls. There's no other contact number or extension to reach out to. The receptionist must be relieved of her duties. She is highly unprofessional. Who should I speak to if the receptionist won't respond. I was left with bulky nails and glue all over my fingers. The store was packed, and it was not a relaxing experience at all. I wouldn't suggest coming here; some of the workers shouldn't even be handling people's nails as they lack experience. Simply put, it's standard procedure that when doing a perm and trim, the haircut should come after. He's not one to seek conflict, but as a hair salon, this should be common knowledge. Why would anyone want half of their head to remain straight after a perm? Before the treatment, his hair length was sufficient for perming. I went today to get my eyebrows waxed and threaded, the person I usually go to, the Maori Indian one she was attending to someone else so I got it done by another person this time. My eyebrows were already in an arch shape and I wanted them to stay clean and in that shape, mate this person completely changed the shape, like do you know how long it takes to grow them and to actually maintain that shape. This is by far mine and my whānau's most visited mall. We used to live within the area, and our home was just a few minutes' walk to here. We'd have lunch and/or dinner there on most days and shop for other stuff as well on other days. Even now, after moving to East Auckland we still come here on most days because we've become so familiar with the place and the stores. And it has everything, everything you could need all in one place. Imagine all your favourite stores in one place where you can just stroll from one to the other and then sit down and have a meal with whānau and friends or by yourself or even see a movie. They proposed using the back camera of a phone for the photo, with the assurance that they would edit it and check its acceptability. I value my time and do not wish to waste it on a re-capture using a phone camera. Furthermore, customers should be informed about the camera situation before any charges are imposed. Most individuals carry smartphones these days, so if you are going to use phone cameras for official photos and charge $13, why should customers visit your shop? Walking into Harmony @ Westfield Auckland is like coming home or visiting a friend's place. The team there (Kahu, Te Aroha & Aroha) are the only ones I trust with my hair. They're open to trying new things, but if something won't work or suit me, they're honest about it. About 9 years ago, I visited every salon in Auckland Mall asking to go from dark brown to blonde. One salon quoted me around $600 for blonde highlights because they thought maintaining Blonde Hair would be too difficult. Another salon had sky-high prices, but Harmony was the friendliest, most affordable, and actually listened to what I wanted, even making sure I had the right products to take home. Since then, I haven't gone anywhere else. From copper to blonde to black to blonde to pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to copper again, my hair has been through a lot but remains healthy, soft, and well-maintained. The team at Harmony Auckland truly feels like family. Thank you, wonderful people!
