The pools themselves are divine and the changing facilities are top-notch. Adore the array of pool choices, plus massage and private pools. Customer service could certainly be enhanced, particularly regarding procedures. Reception should direct lengthy booking calls to staff in the back, or have a call button to summon staff to come out and handle long queues waiting to pay. Staff appeared displeased when a patron suggested they step in and take payment while the receptionist was on a call lasting more than 8 minutes.
We landed here after trekking up Mt. Maunganui and that turned out to be the top choice, we returned not tired at all. They have their own spot for parking and it’s free for patrons. We drove in, strolled in without a booking, got our wristbands, changed in the changing rooms (male & female separate, also serving as restrooms/showers) and then left our gear on an empty table and headed to the pools. The southeast & northwest pools were mainly for kids and slightly cooler than the one in the middle where we spent most of our time. The small pool at the southwest corner was for grown-ups and is the hottest. The pools and amenities were tidy, there were multiple drink stations to avoid dehydration, staff were welcoming and it didn’t break the bank, all in all a top-notch experience.
We recently checked out Mount Hot Pools and overall, I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars. While there were a couple of areas that didn't quite meet expectations, there were also some standout features that made the visit worthwhile.
