Normally, Acquisitions is my go-to spot for gifts, but today was a different story. The service was unprofessional and slow. Poor Sam didn't seem to know how to wrap gifts the 'Acquisitions way,' and it was clear that neither Sia nor any other manager had properly trained her. It's important to educate your staff, maintain professionalism, and avoid blaming colleagues for mistakes in front of customers, Sia.
I must say, the service I received on Saturday 13 April 2024 was absolutely outstanding. I needed a last-minute gift for a 70th birthday that evening, so I popped in around 4.45pm. The lone staff member was incredibly helpful and kind. Although I didn't catch her name, I just had to mention that she was fantastic. I left with the perfect gift beautifully wrapped - thank you so much.
This gift shop is usually one of my favorites, but unfortunately, the woman working there today wasn't willing to negotiate reasonably with customers and their requests. I purchased four gifts for my trip to Europe and wanted them placed in individual bags with names printed on them. However, the woman only offered one bag and insisted on putting all the gifts in it. She mentioned having three more bags, but didn't seem willing to accommodate or engage with the customer any further. Disappointing lack of customer service. Cheers for the excellent savings, though.
