It's a highly elegant spot. I felt that the portion size didn't quite justify the price, but the quality and taste were certainly above par. :) The service was also exceptional. I will definitely return when I'm back in Wellington.
A secretive Italian bistro hidden away from the bustling streets, offering an authentic culinary experience with top-notch dishes. The lunch set provides great value, in my view. Service could use some improvement. The staff weren't impolite or unwelcoming, but there was a slight lack of coordination when serving our meals. As our lunch sets arrived on trays, it would have been helpful if they had assisted in making space on the table or had another team member aid in rearranging things. The waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed trying to balance the trays and placed them on uneven surfaces. Since we had little ones and elderly individuals with us, some of us had our hands full. It was a bit nerve-wracking to watch (we did lend a hand where we could). It would have been nice if the tempura had a bit more variety even if it was just two pieces. The salad lacked the pop of color from a cherry tomato. Otherwise, it would have been flawless!!! 🤗 Just some constructive feedback for potential enhancements.
Outstanding Italian eatery tucked away beside the Spanish quarter and fresh market. The presentation was definitely a standout. Wine served in a unique vessel. The food was truly delightful. Highly recommend the veal scaloppine. It has a subtle kick but pairs perfectly with a side of risotto.
