"eggs bene our way" = the most budget-friendly way possible. It's literally half a ciabatta bun from the supermarket packs. A fried egg? Where's the poached one? Some flavorless bacon. To be fair, it was cheap, but I've paid the same amount elsewhere and received 2 poached eggs with generous slices of sourdough, etc. The coffee was weak and had a soapy taste. I don't understand the positive reviews at all.
My husband and I had brunch there a couple of weeks back. The service was absolutely top-notch. And the food was incredibly delicious. I meant to leave a review that day, but my memory is a bit hazy at the moment. I ordered a big breakfast, and it was simply outstanding!
When the sun is out, head out for brekkie! This has been my life's motto, and it never fails me! While biking around the region, my husband and I got a bit hungry, so we decided to drop by one of the many cafes in Richmond. This particular spot was new to us, and it seemed quite bustling. Luckily, there were a few seats available in the outdoor dining area at the back of the cafe. Perfect! As we entered the cafe, we placed our order at the counter. Coffees (of course!), French toast with bacon, bananas, and maple syrup, and Bacon and eggs on sourdough. The cabinet also displayed a wide selection of fresh and appetizing food, but we stuck to our choices! The coffee arrived first, brought to our table by a cheerful young lad, probably earning some extra cash over the weekend. The coffee was delightful and set the right tone for the meal. The food didn't keep us waiting long, which was impressive considering how busy the cafe was, a sign of a well-managed kitchen. The French Toast was crunchy, topped with bacon and bananas. A few small critiques here, the bacon could have been a tad crispier, but I appreciated how it was chopped up, making it easier to eat! A bit more syrup would've been nice, maybe served in a small jar so I could add as needed. These are minor points and mostly personal preferences. The eggs were perfectly fried, with rich, runny yolks. Once again, the bacon was chopped up and could have been a bit crispier. Overall, a satisfying breakfast, with warm and welcoming service that felt genuinely like a family affair. The outdoor dining area stole the show that morning, and we'll definitely return!
