I've been getting a full head of highlights for 15 years. NEVER have I had such a dreadful experience. My hair has NEVER been in such awful condition, even though I was pushed to buy a conditioning treatment to "enhance the color." After the first wash, my hair felt like a big tangled mess. On top of that, the highlights were placed way too far from the roots, showing immediate regrowth, and I had to return after two weeks for the owner and stylist to fix her mistakes with the foiling that became visible as the toner faded. To make matters worse, I spent over three hours in the salon and wasn't even offered a drink of water. I had my eyebrows tattooed, both top and bottom. Wasn't sure what to expect but the team was amazing and very attentive throughout the entire process. I then opted to have my eyebrows done and honestly, they look so much better now. They were very thin with no shape, and I was tired of filling them in every day. I visited to have my lip, chin, and brows waxed/threaded. I've had bad experiences in the past in Wellington, so I've gone months without grooming my brows. Due to my past experiences, I always clearly explain what I want - just a tidy up, no shaping, and definitely no thinning or rounding at the front/middle. The lady just nodded and proceeded. When she finished, it was so awful I almost cried. My brow was cut, and she had excessively thinned my left brow. I couldn't believe the poor job she did. While waxing my lip and chin, the wax was spread over my lips, which was very frustrating, and she even blew on the wax, which is unhygienic. Afterward, I had little pimples around my chin and lip.
I was offered a free henna to fix the brow because the lady admitted she did a terrible job, but the henna wore off, and the damage was done. Oh my gosh!! This spot exceeded all of our expectations. We had 5 mates as part of a Hens party... 3 bridesmaids, 1 bride and a buddy. All manicures were stunning and perfect! Definitely one of the top facials I've had in a year! By chance I came across this handsome gentleman, I tried other salons in the area but they were fully booked, and so my search led me to Daos. He accommodated a last-minute facial booking for me, as I was on my last day in Wellington and had an hour to spare. It's absolutely worth the money I paid, even though his partner quoted $60 for a full facial over the phone, and I even got my eyebrows waxed for $15 making it $85, but I was just so pleased I didn't mind! In fact, he should consider raising his prices to be fair! Definitely visit here, lovely ambiance, private and professional, he even gave me skincare tips. Worth every dollar and more! I looked like I'd shed some years walking out of there, I wish he was here in Christchurch!About
