I've been getting a full head of highlights for 15 years. NEVER have I had such a dreadful experience. My hair has NEVER been in such awful condition, even though I was pushed to buy a conditioning treatment to "enhance the color." After the first wash, my hair felt like a big tangled mess. On top of that, the highlights were placed way too far from the roots, showing immediate regrowth, and I had to return after two weeks for the owner and stylist to fix her mistakes with the foiling that became visible as the toner faded. To make matters worse, I spent over three hours in the salon and wasn't even offered a drink of water. I visited to have my lip, chin, and brows waxed/threaded. I've had bad experiences in the past in Wellington, so I've gone months without grooming my brows. Due to my past experiences, I always clearly explain what I want - just a tidy up, no shaping, and definitely no thinning or rounding at the front/middle. The lady just nodded and proceeded. When she finished, it was so awful I almost cried. My brow was cut, and she had excessively thinned my left brow. I couldn't believe the poor job she did. While waxing my lip and chin, the wax was spread over my lips, which was very frustrating, and she even blew on the wax, which is unhygienic. Afterward, I had little pimples around my chin and lip.
I was offered a free henna to fix the brow because the lady admitted she did a terrible job, but the henna wore off, and the damage was done. To get to The Cosmetic Clinic Rotorua at 1282 Tutanekai Street, Rotorua 3010, New Zealand by public transport, take bus number 3 or 4 and alight at the Tutanekai St - Amohia St bus stop. If driving, head towards Tutanekai Street and turn onto Amohia Street, then turn onto Tutanekai Street where the clinic is located.

There appears to be a shortage of staff at the checkout. Only had 2 operators for around 5 people in each queue. The self-service was very busy. The operator I had, who was very pleasant, mentioned they are always in need of more staff. Sort it out or I'll switch to New World where they usually have 5 operators open. If you need your makeup and hair done, look no further than Ash at Extreme Beauty. I usually don't wear makeup, but decided to for the Te Arawa Centennial Ball. I requested a natural look, and Ash delivered flawlessly. She is truly amazing and I highly recommend her - very professional and skilled. Just had my premier experience at the salon with my untouched thick Māori hair! Could not have gone anywhere better. I ended up with an amazing hair stylist named JEM! He had instantly calmed my nerves and was very direct and professional the whole duration of the 4 hours it took to get my hair done. I went for a kerasilk treatment with a layered hair cut and curtain bangs! Jem was such a perfectionist going over and beyond my expectations!! I kid you not that in those 4 hours I was probably on my phone for like 10mins, that’s how much me and Jem were talking hehe. The car park is spacious, well lit, and very easy to access. The supermarket has clear aisle signage down each aisle that makes it easy to find the product you are looking for, especially if you are a visitor. I had no trouble navigating the store.
The shelves were well stocked, staff friendly, and plenty of check out operators or self-checkout options.
There was a pharmacy in the store, but when I visited at 11 am on Monday, it was closed!!
Overall, I found it a pleasant shopping experience.
