Visited this place for my regular waxes when I arrived from Australia and always had a top-notch experience! Mackenzie is incredibly kind, hilariously funny, and highly professional. The sugar wax she used was super effective in hair removal without irritating my skin. She was very meticulous and always made sure every visible hair was gone. I'll definitely go back to her if I'm in the Bay of Plenty again. Avoid having eyelash extensions done here! Had extensions last Sat arvo. By Sun evening half had fallen out. Went back on the Mon morn & another tech 'fixed' them. They were uneven & looked terrible. By that evening I had to seek medical attention as my eyes were swelling and extremely sore. Needed removal, eye drops & washes & meds. This was the worst nail extension experience I've ever had. Despite booking for 2:35, we waited for over an hour and didn't even get the technician we chose. It took nearly 3 hours for the SNS, which was unacceptable. I wanted a cat eye design, but it turned out to be a shimmery SNS instead. I'm extremely disappointed. This will definitely be my first and last visit. Jade, who I assume is the owner/manager, tried to be friendly but seemed to put too much pressure on her staff. The pricing was exorbitant. I was gifted a 75-minute massage + facial GrabOne voucher which was absolutely lovely. I really appreciated the forms I was asked to fill out online prior to my treatment where I could specify my massage and facial preferences, any particular focus areas and relevant medical history. The forms were easy to follow and quick to fill out — I thought this was a very professional touch! Anahera made me feel comfortable and was very accommodating of my needs, carefully choosing a facial treatment that wouldn’t adversely interact with my current medications and skincare. I was really impressed with the quality of my treatments and love that she uses Antipodes skincare products. Small touches like getting to choose the scent of essential oil for my massage were the icing on the cake!
