Absolutely adore this quaint little New World. The staff here are exceptional. While they may not always have everything I desire, Pac 'n Save is just a short drive away. Unfortunately, the other day they were out of watermelon and smoked chicken, which was a bummer, but I usually find other essentials here at a reasonable price.
Not the typical New World experience at all. Limited selection, higher prices compared to Porirua New World, and inattentive staff. Two employees restocking in different sections had their items positioned in a way that blocked passage without any effort to move and make way for customers. And don't get me started on the checkouts. Oh dear. The cashier placed square boxes in such a manner that only three fit awkwardly in the bag. She worked at a snail's pace with no conversation. Ugh. I had to rearrange everything in my car under the rain. Honestly, it's better to head over to Porirua or the delightful Thorndon New Worlds. Paremata is a letdown.
Neat tidy place. Small trolleys light enough for toddlers and little ones to push and navigate around the store. Appreciate the free fruit stand and rubbish bin for the little ones. My grandson enjoyed his two mandarins! Helpful and friendly staff. Thank you for allowing hospice to set up a stand. Both my parents received hospice care in Auckland, so it's a very deserving charity to support. Much love ❤️
