Will definitely return as there are not many experts for wavy hair in Auckland! To get to Nyx Hair Design at 30 Camp Street, Silverstream, Upper Hutt 5018, New Zealand by public transport, take bus number 110 from Wellington Railway Station and get off at the stop near Fergusson Drive. From there, walk south on Fergusson Drive, turn left onto Whitemans Road, then right onto Camp Street where you will find Nyx Hair Design on your left. If driving, head north on State Highway 2, turn left onto Fergusson Drive, then left onto Whitemans Road, and finally right onto Camp Street where Nyx Hair Design is located.

I came across this place accidentally while seeking directions to another spot. Ended up staying and going with them, and I'm glad I did. Got a better deal than my intended destination. But more than the savings, the staff were genuinely nice. The atmosphere was friendly and cheerful. They thoroughly explained everything to me and even sent a video of the work they did. I could tell they were trustworthy. Now, I feel confident driving my car. Amazing team. Folks, don't waste your cash, I visited this salon based on reviews for a balayage treatment. They charged me $220 and completely ruined my hair. I lost all my previously healthy hair, now it looks like a mishandled mess.
Each strand has a different color, my hair appears patchy with grassy and grey-blond hues.
Their lack of professionalism is evident - they don't even know how to properly blow dry hair. Their dryers are of poor quality and they use only one brush, resulting in lackluster results.
Upon returning home, my hair started falling out. I suspect they left bleach on my already treated hair for too long, causing it to break off.
Please avoid wasting your time, money, and most importantly, your hair. I've attached photos from the same day so you can see the disaster that passed off as balayage 🥹🥹
I'm at a loss on how to deal with my damaged and patchy hair. I've tried numerous masks, Olaplex treatments, and even attempted coloring it at home, but nothing has helped in restoring my hair.

I’ve been going to Tane for about 5 years and I can honestly say she is the best at threading my eyebrows and moustache. Isn’t as painful as previous beauty salons I’ve been too. She is fairly priced and the atmosphere of the salon is always calming. The friendliest person you’ll meet, always interacts with you. Never a dull moment in the salon. I also go and get my legs waxed with Tane and she always does a fantastic job, leaves my legs looking incredible. Would 100% recommend Tane's beauty salon to anyone who wants any type of hair removal. Or in general anything involving beauty. If I could rate 6 stars, I definitely would. Olivia is incredibly kind and was extremely understanding with my overly enthusiastic big pup; it can be quite overwhelming to visit the vet when your dog easily gets overexcited. Olivia not only stepped outside to greet my pup, but she took her time during the examination. I never felt pressured to hurry out because my pup was causing a commotion; instead, we felt welcomed and my pup received plenty of treats and lick mats to relax, allowing us to complete the assessment. Midway through the cut and our chat, I discovered it was only his third day with Blades. Couldn't have guessed it; he was courteous, engaging, precise in his work, and extremely friendly.
