I've been to Aotearoa twice this year. Jo is a fantastic stylist, but I may not return. During my visits, Jo mentioned the time it takes to dye my hair on multiple occasions. I have dark, thick Asian hair, so I empathized with the situation. I go to the salon to boost my confidence, not to apologize for my ethnicity. I can only afford to pamper myself twice a year. On both visits, they lightened my hair more than I desired.About

I had my hair styled and colored by Jade and goodness, I'm a huge fan of hers. My hair was a complete mess before, and she transformed it beautifully, I'm absolutely thrilled with the result! AND she made the whole process enjoyable (never once did she criticize my hair that resembled a cheap, neglected discount store wig), plus I swear getting summery blonde highlights in winter is a remedy for seasonal blues... Studies are pending, but we really should look into it, shouldn't we? I came in for a lash lift and eyebrow shape. The team was super friendly, and the place was impeccably clean. About a week or two after the procedures, I was content with my eyebrow shapes. However, after 5 minutes, the skin around my eyebrows became extremely irritated. By the 2-week mark, my forehead and eyebrow area started breaking out.

Te Aroha (sorry if I didn’t spell that right) was my stylist today and I had never met them before… They were the most lovely amazing person I’ve ever had cut my hair before by far! I adore getting my hair done at Forever Young! Such a peaceful atmosphere, and Jamie is such a skilled stylist (colour; highlights; cut - she's the best!). I always leave feeling EXTREMELY happy with my hair. Did I mention the amazing head massages?! (These are optional for those who don't like them - apparently this is a thing???). The salon is also next to a nail salon, so simple to get hair and nails done on the same day. Easy parking on Bay road, and cafes and shops nearby to visit when you're done to flaunt your new style. They're also super accommodating if you have little ones that need to come with you. I always leave feeling like my hair is wrong because Jade remarks - in a negative tone - on it being really thick and in need of a trim. The last time I went I asked for a fountain fringe, but I don't think you could call it that because it isn't a-symmetrical - with the hair shorter further away from my face, rather than the other way around. There are always weird really short bits of hair on my head where Jade was evidently over-zealous in thinning it. The salon itself is often quite dirty and is shared with a chiropractor, so you can sometimes hear grunting as people's knots are worked out just over the partition.
