Announced a complimentary back wax opportunity on social media so pupils could hone their skills. Admittedly, I felt a bit anxious about a student working on me, but the process was painless, swift, and well-done. Zoe and her peer student were exceptional. No issues. Silky smooth like a kiwi!
The new workplace is posh, but the scheduling appears quite unreliable. My initial massage appointment wasn't logged in their system upon arrival, leading to a rescheduling for another day without any communication or confirmation (was unaware of the massage price until after the session!), and it commenced 20 minutes later than scheduled (during which I overheard someone else being informed they had the wrong booking and had to return later). A $70 hour-long massage was gentle but decent (although in a semi-private room only separated by curtains, causing me to overhear every conversation nearby while trying to relax). Additionally, the discomfort of being scrutinized by numerous individuals behind the reception desk when exiting or waiting for the slow lift is unbearable. Unsure if I'd recommend it!
Attended this institute and graduated in 2016. Completed the extensive Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapies. I feel they didn't adequately train for manicures/pedicures and waxing. Upon entering the workforce at a beauty salon post-graduation, I had to significantly enhance my techniques beyond what this institute taught. The spa aspect of the course was better covered, but I wish there was more emphasis on the aforementioned areas. Especially considering the hefty price tag, I now have a loan exceeding $20,000 that I took out to pursue beauty and spa therapies at this school. It's disheartening. I can't speak to the current improvement of their educators. Also, the tutors (during my time, there may be new ones now) overlooked the bullying occurring among some students in my class.
