I had my hair styled and colored by Jade and goodness, I'm a huge fan of hers. My hair was a complete mess before, and she transformed it beautifully, I'm absolutely thrilled with the result! AND she made the whole process enjoyable (never once did she criticize my hair that resembled a cheap, neglected discount store wig), plus I swear getting summery blonde highlights in winter is a remedy for seasonal blues... Studies are pending, but we really should look into it, shouldn't we? Wow. Such awesome vibes and every single one of the people working there were super lovely! Te Aroha (sorry if I didn’t spell that right) was my stylist today and I had never met them before… They were the most lovely amazing person I’ve ever had cut my hair before by far! Their service and vibe was so refreshing and for someone so young in hairdressing they did such a great job on my hair! Everyone has seen me and been just as impressed as I was. Visited Hippopotamus for supper. Their spot is very classy and the decor is well put together. Opted for the Theatre menu. I may have set my hopes too high, but I was anticipating a spectacle of them plating our dishes right in front of us. Instead, we had a staff member do the plating in front of us, lacking effort or entertainment value. Just slicing the meat and serving it. This left me underwhelmed by the Theatre menu and somewhat dampened my evening and dining experience. We assumed there would be some cooking happening before us, not just slicing.
Don't get me wrong, the service and staff were genuinely warm and pleasant. I just feel they need to inject a bit of wow factor into the Theatre menu.
