I was introduced to Synergy Fitness by a colleague who couldn’t speak highly enough of both the trainers and the Gym. I never really liked the whole gym environment, but went and had a look, signed up and haven’t looked back. The Trainers are awesome, they will happily adapt to different fitness/ability levels and are super encouraging and the general atmosphere is fun, friendly and supportive. I’ve been going to the small group classes for about 6 months now and love it – highly recommend!
The most overpriced gym in the town. Firstly, the opening times are NOT as stated on the door. If you reside in the nearby flats and think you'll have time to use the gym or sauna after dinner, you're mistaken. Secondly, don't waste money on the sauna. The sauna is frequently out of order, lacks heaters, or fails to turn on, and only reaches about 49 degrees. Thirdly, the staff are very patronizing. I had a personal trainer session and, despite being a fairly fit rock-climber, the trainer insisted on teaching me how to do a pushup. When I mentioned that I wanted to learn how to use the weights and machines, I was informed that I'd progress to that after this session. It appeared evident that they would lead you on with demeaning exercises until you pay for more sessions to learn something beyond primary-school PE. Do not mistake the peaceful ambiance for a non-judgmental, serene setting. I assume the members are merely quietly seething at being trapped into exorbitant prices for a dreadful gym.
