I wasn’t going to write a review since i don’t know much about hair but since being to a different professional and having everything explained to me in detail i feel like i should let people know. i had been going to this salon for a while and at the start i loved the way my hair looked and then it started to look very bright at my scalp and very ashy at the bottom this is because they overlap their foils with existing bleach this makes the hair extremely fragile and damaged i believe this is why my hair is in the condition it is now i used to have beautiful healthy hair and now it struggles to grow past a certain length, after i noticed it looking very bright at the top and ashy at the bottom i decided to get brown dye put in, my hair has snapped off so badly and it has made me super stressed and upset. Another thing that alarmed me was how it hurt when the foils were taken out i feel like yanking them out would cause more damage and when i went to a different salon i couldn’t even feel her pulling them out so there is definitely a better way to get the foils out. i knew my last time going to this salon was when i arrived on time and had not eaten anything that morning but i didn’t want to make her late for her next appointment by getting something to eat and when i got there she said she was running behind but didn’t give me an estimated time and i ended up waiting 39 minutes and i was still paying for “extra long” hair even though my hair had to be cut super short since it was all snapped and fried off. again the only reason i am writing this review is because my self confidence has gone down so much because of my hair and i’ve experienced much better treatment at a different salon and i think you should spend your money somewhere elseThe Hair Collective is open in Monday: 12:00-20:00 Tuesday: 12:00-20:00 Wednesday: 9:00-17:00 Thursday: 9:00-17:00 Friday: 9:00-17:00 Saturday: Closed Sunday: Closed

How can i get there
To get to Flicks Hair & Beauty at 180e Yaldhurst Road, Avonhead, Christchurch 8042, New Zealand by public transport, take bus number 125 from the city center and get off at the Avonhead Shops stop. From there, it's a short walk to the salon. If you prefer to drive, head west on Yaldhurst Road from the city center until you reach the intersection with Withells Road. Turn left onto Withells Road and continue until you reach the intersection with Avonhead Road. Turn right onto Avonhead Road and then left onto Yaldhurst Road where you will find Flicks Hair & Beauty on your right.

Insanely well served salon. First ever Indian salon I actually would recommend going to. Outstanding interior and exterior, hairdresser knew exactly what they were doing. If unsure what cut to get, they recommend and show photos of the cuts they can give. Top customer service with a welcoming entrance.
