Terrible experience, visited this place yesterday and the man who did my hair didn't even make an effort. He had poor communication skills & charged me $7 for a subpar job, asked him to trim my hair and he said it's already short enough. After he trimmed my hair again, he rolled his eyes at me. Worst hair/nail salon in Papatoetoe at this point. Lilly is fantastic and did a fantastic job on my hair. I had a hair cut and treatment. Now four weeks on after the cut, still all my friends ask about where I got my hair cut! I'll never hesitate to recommend Lilly to anyone who wants a long-lasting style look with their hair cut. Very professional and uses high quality products without any fuss. She is so generous with her knowledge too! Some may find her chatty, but she is in fact so generous and professional at the same time! I've been a patron of Ratree's salon since I was 9 years old, which was over 20 years ago. I've never sought services elsewhere. Ratree and her sister are both warm and welcoming. My late mother used to frequent this salon, so I continue the tradition of getting my hair done here in her memory. The salon is much more hygienic and courteous compared to others I've visited, regardless of how busy it may be. Patience is key when visiting. I look forward to my appointment with Ratree in the New Year. I only cut my hair once annually. I'd like a quiff undercut, please! 👋🥺

I visited a salon for a haircut. Showed the stylist a photo of the style I wanted. My hair was originally down to my waist. I agreed to a trim to chest length - around 5 inches below my shoulders. However, she cut it much shorter, above my shoulders. The style she gave me was nothing like the picture. I requested a face-framing cut with no layers at the back, but she added layers all over. I do not recommend her services at all.

I recently had the Keratin Hair Treatment at Waves Hair and Beauty and I must say, my hair feels absolutely fabulous! My natural hair is thick and long, with a tendency to be curly and frizzy. However, after Irene worked her magic on my hair, it feels healthier than ever. Now, the frizz only shows up in the morning, but it's nothing compared to what it used to be. This was my first time trying this treatment, and Irene's expertise put me at ease right from the start. She took the time to explain the process thoroughly, like why it's important not to apply the treatment directly to the roots to avoid damaging the natural keratin oil production. She even had a solution for customers with damaged roots from previous treatments elsewhere. The entire experience at the salon was delightful. Despite the lengthy process, I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout. Irene was not only skilled but also warm and welcoming, making conversation easy and even leading me to share personal stories. After this wonderful experience, Waves Hair and Beauty, with Irene at the helm, has definitely won me over.
