Today me and my whānau visited Parnell. We were captivated by the beauty of the suburb and captured moments around the area. We encountered a charming dog relaxing outside a brow salon - The Better Sisters. Intrigued by its cuteness, we began taking photos. Shortly after, we were reprimanded by the salon's owner for photographing the dog. While I understand not everyone is comfortable with their pet being photographed, the manner in which we were approached was somewhat aggressive, with a hint of anger, leaving me feeling intimidated and uneasy. It would have been appreciated if the owner had communicated the message in a more polite and gentle manner. The incident was a real buzzkill as our intentions were innocent, and we had no desire to cause offense. I believe as a business owner, it is crucial to maintain a level of politeness and respect in interactions. I enjoy visiting brow and lash salons, but I would reconsider patronizing a place where the owner displays rudeness.About

Visited Amy a couple of times for my lashes, and she's now my go-to person. Amy did my lashes for my wedding, and I absolutely adored them. Despite my one-year-old daughter constantly demanding attention and trying to play with Amy's tools, she did an incredible job. (No more bringing her along next time, haha). I have been waxing at Bonita for nine years. They are always very professional and respectful towards the client. The staff is well trained and they keep the quality and consistency across the staff. If there’s someone being trained they always ask permission to train that person while waxing you. They also ask if we feel comfortable going with someone who’s been trained. Although I’ve been going there for nine years they still ask permission to come inside the room without a fail. The service and the quality are 10 out of 10. I had the best experience at Benefit Cosmetics Kiwi Plaza yesterday. I had booked in at Kiwi Beauty initially however when I showed up to my appointment and was waiting for the guy at the benefit cosmetics counter to finish up talking with some guys for over 20 mins past my appt time, he then proceeded to run out back and grab his bags to leave the store before telling me they had to cancel my appt due to someone being sick. I have a small pigment on my cheek, so I found this local Kiwi business through Google for my first-ever skin/beauty appointment. I met a consultant in early August and was quoted $165 for 3 laser visits monthly. Great. I informed the beautician I'd book in October, which I did via email. That's when things got tricky. I received an email response stating that what I was quoted was for an Autumn procedure (note autumn is April/May in NZ). Instead, I was told I needed to book derma needling for $500-700. At this point, I couldn't tell if it was incompetence or a sly upsell - who knows! So, I didn't proceed with the treatment. Ten days ago, I received a survey, likely from the 'on and off' marketing department. I raised all my concerns in it. Guess what - no response. I suppose I won't get one here either!
