I have a small pigment on my cheek, so I found this local Kiwi business through Google for my first-ever skin/beauty appointment. I met a consultant in early August and was quoted $165 for 3 laser visits monthly. Great. I informed the beautician I'd book in October, which I did via email. That's when things got tricky. I received an email response stating that what I was quoted was for an Autumn procedure (note autumn is April/May in NZ). Instead, I was told I needed to book derma needling for $500-700. At this point, I couldn't tell if it was incompetence or a sly upsell - who knows! So, I didn't proceed with the treatment. Ten days ago, I received a survey, likely from the 'on and off' marketing department. I raised all my concerns in it. Guess what - no response. I suppose I won't get one here either! I've had massages all around the globe. Honestly, this place in New Zealand is the best I've experienced. My mum and I enjoyed the Couple Viva La Hair and Foot massage. We were pleasantly surprised by a private couple foot massage room with warm honey drinks and treats.

I had the best experience at Benefit Cosmetics Kiwi Plaza yesterday. I had booked in at Kiwi Beauty initially however when I showed up to my appointment and was waiting for the guy at the benefit cosmetics counter to finish up talking with some guys for over 20 mins past my appt time, he then proceeded to run out back and grab his bags to leave the store before telling me they had to cancel my appt due to someone being sick. I purchased a package of three laser sessions, which were supposed to include a free face mask and LED face treatment, but I did not receive them during any of my sessions. Additionally, I had a full leg treatment yesterday, and I have a tattoo on my lower leg. I felt a burning sensation around my tattoo area after the session, and when I mentioned it to the therapist, she assured me not to worry. However, upon checking today, part of my tattoo area is blistered and painful. This is highly unprofessional, and I would not recommend this service.About

Was a loyal customer of About Face - especially the Dunedin branch - for years. Even flew back from Canada for treatments. Invested a lot in products, omnilux, etc. However, things took a turn last year - a series of Fraxel treatments left me with post-inflammatory pigmentation and triggered melasma (never experienced this before, no hormonal changes, everything checked). Now spent a fortune on dermatologist visits, peels, skin needling, high-dose vitamin C, hydroquinone, niacinamide, Tretinoin cream. What really hurt was the lack of acknowledgment. Won't be returning to this establishment.
