I purchased a package of three laser sessions, which were supposed to include a free face mask and LED face treatment, but I did not receive them during any of my sessions. Additionally, I had a full leg treatment yesterday, and I have a tattoo on my lower leg. I felt a burning sensation around my tattoo area after the session, and when I mentioned it to the therapist, she assured me not to worry. However, upon checking today, part of my tattoo area is blistered and painful. This is highly unprofessional, and I would not recommend this service.About

I have a small pigment on my cheek, so I found this local Kiwi business through Google for my first-ever skin/beauty appointment. I met a consultant in early August and was quoted $165 for 3 laser visits monthly. Great. I informed the beautician I'd book in October, which I did via email. That's when things got tricky. I received an email response stating that what I was quoted was for an Autumn procedure (note autumn is April/May in NZ). Instead, I was told I needed to book derma needling for $500-700. At this point, I couldn't tell if it was incompetence or a sly upsell - who knows! So, I didn't proceed with the treatment. Ten days ago, I received a survey, likely from the 'on and off' marketing department. I raised all my concerns in it. Guess what - no response. I suppose I won't get one here either! It took over half an hour to drive to my 3:15pm Friday appointment only for the health professional to say I had to see one of their doctors because it is a high risk treatment... none of whom were available to see me. I informed the receptionist of my needs so they should've known to schedule me with a doctor. Was a loyal customer of About Face - especially the Dunedin branch - for years. Even flew back from Canada for treatments. Invested a lot in products, omnilux, etc. However, things took a turn last year - a series of Fraxel treatments left me with post-inflammatory pigmentation and triggered melasma (never experienced this before, no hormonal changes, everything checked). Now spent a fortune on dermatologist visits, peels, skin needling, high-dose vitamin C, hydroquinone, niacinamide, Tretinoin cream. What really hurt was the lack of acknowledgment. Won't be returning to this establishment.
