I've had massages all around the globe. Honestly, this place in New Zealand is the best I've experienced. My mum and I enjoyed the Couple Viva La Hair and Foot massage. We were pleasantly surprised by a private couple foot massage room with warm honey drinks and treats.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and their respectfulness shines through. It's the first time we've seen beauticians bow with such respect in New Zealand. However, when the other technician finished with her client, she came over to do a manicure for me as well. It was quick but a fantastic job. I arrived in a week ago and wanted to book something that offered great attention to cuticle and heel work. I discussed this at the counter and booked a mani and pedi which included all these things plus a massage.
The atmosphere is truly lovely and I feel it sets a scene that leads you to expect more than what the service actually delivers.
It's been a week now and my nails are already chipping and lifting, with a lot of skin tears around my nail.
The experience felt very rushed, with 2 people working on me and an electric tool used to buff (grind) my nails. I find this approach to be quite heavy-handed and causing significant damage to the nails. My nails became really hot and it was painful.
I would recommend some training on massage as I understand it won't be lengthy but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be good. It's been a week now and my nails are already lifting and chipping.
