Took my daughter here for her first haircut. They exceeded all my expectations. All the aunties showed up and they were so warm. Hemi was fantastic! He was so gentle and even gave us (the parents) as well as the two grannies a strand of hair each which they greatly appreciated. Everyone there is incredibly kind, imaginative, and open-minded, and didn't hesitate to answer any questions I had, they were extremely helpful in showing me all the new ways I could style my new hair and the simple methods I could use to maintain the vibrancy of my new hair. 10/10!! I love visiting Aotearoa! As someone who only gets their hair done once (or maybe twice) a year, I really look forward to the whole experience of being in the salon. Shay has done an amazing job on my hair the two times I’ve seen her and was so responsive when I wanted to come back and get my hair lightened a little more after one of those sessions. I've been to Aotearoa twice this year. Jo is a fantastic stylist, but I may not return. During my visits, Jo mentioned the time it takes to dye my hair on multiple occasions. I have dark, thick Asian hair, so I empathized with the situation. I go to the salon to boost my confidence, not to apologize for my ethnicity. I can only afford to pamper myself twice a year. The scenery is stunning. The massage, unfortunately, was quite average and the therapist was very talkative. She pressed on my back to realign a bone, but it only partially went back into place. Wow. Such awesome vibes and every single one of the people working there were super lovely! Te Aroha (sorry if I didn’t spell that right) was my stylist today and I had never met them before… They were the most lovely amazing person I’ve ever had cut my hair before by far! Their service and vibe was so refreshing and for someone so young in hairdressing they did such a great job on my hair! Everyone has seen me and been just as impressed as I was. Hands down best experience I’ve had at a hairdresser for sure!
