Outstanding service, food was impeccable, portions were quite sizable, so after our appetizers, we had to take a breather before our mains arrived. Highly recommend this place, will definitely be back!!
Had dinner last night. It's been a while since we last visited Detour, the gentleman next to us mentioned he frequents the place 5 times a year and always finds the food to be outstanding. Once again, exceptional food and service. If you're really hungry, Detour is the place to go. The portions are incredibly generous, I love having leftovers 😊. Best bang for your buck in Whakatane. Kudos to the Chef! The kitchen runs smoothly, well-managed, and it shows in the dishes. Special shoutout to the young Maori waiter, great smile, clear communication, excellent service. Chef's timing is always impeccable, the food is scrumptious, and the atmosphere is always relaxed and pleasant. 5 stars, hoping you both receive a well-deserved raise. This place is absolutely stunning, worth every penny. The cuts of meat are MASSIVE, cooked to perfection 🤤 and the mashed potatoes are divine! The chicken curry was superb 👌👌 We were warmly welcomed and taken care of by the entire team here, top-notch service. We will definitely be back on our next visit, the photos don't do it justice 🤤
