This salon is absolutely amazing. I was in dire need of a haircut and couldn't find a place to get it done. I stumbled upon this gem by pure chance. I'm quite shy, but the team made me feel at ease and respected both me and my hair. I adored the experience and will definitely be returning. I've already informed my mum about this place, and she's excited to visit too. Looking forward to seeing you soon, ladies! 😜
Rating less than a single star. I travelled up from Auckland to visit family and during my stay, I decided it was time for a change after growing my hair out for a decade, it was reaching my lower back. I showed a picture of a manageable style. When I made my appointment over the phone, we discussed a cut and style, so I opted for a cut & style. Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm, friendly energy. Before being seated, we reviewed the photo I had chosen, and it seemed like my stylist was confident in the task. I sat down, and she decided to begin with a dry cut to shape the hair (I anticipated a wash would follow this), but after a light spritz of water here and there, the "chopping" started. After 15 minutes, with damp hair, the stylist finished, and it bore no resemblance to the picture I had shown. I was advised to let it air dry with no styling or blowout, just done, full stop! Feeling embarrassed on the spot, I nervously thanked her, settled the bill, and left.
I requested creamy white highlights and lowlights to match the hair at the lower back, with absolutely no warm or gold tones, strictly neutral. After rinsing off the product, the hairdresser mentioned using a toner, which made me uneasy as toners are typically used to neutralize gold and brassy hues. While it did partially achieve that, I still see hints of ginger and gold, and the light foils appear dulled by the toner. The hairdresser inquired if I was satisfied with the color, and I responded that maybe after washing it and the toner fading, it might be acceptable. I tried calling a couple of times but only reached an answering machine. I left a message expressing my disappointment, but it's been six working days since then, and there has been no response. The cost was $197 (excluding a haircut).
