I booked in to get a Keratin treatment on Friday afternoon at the Grey Lynn branch. The communication on arrival was very minimal. I believe that I was given hair straightening with much stronger chemicals instead of Keratin or that the treatment was not done correctly. After the first application, it was washed out very quickly, when I asked why, my hairdresser said it was because my hair was too dry. My hair was not too dry to start with and Keratin has never dried it out before. Also at the end of the treatment, the product was washed out entirely instead of only partially washed out. The hairdresser put a conditioning treatment through my hair before letting me go, because it was so dry. I should have questioned more, but it's very difficult to do so when your hair is in someone else hands. I've had to go to my regular hairdresser and buy nearly $100 of products to keep my fried hair in decent condition. It is dried out, the colour is faded, and it's frizzy in the middle with some breakage at the back. My hairdresser was surprised at how dry it now is. I attempted to leave a message on Instagram, but it did not allow this. The treatment took 4 1/2 hours instead of 3 hours. I would not recommend this hairdresser for this treatment. I reckon he did a top job concealing it and transforming it into a deeply symbolic piece that I'm really chuffed with :) and the pain was bearable. Initially uncertain about the entrance due to a lack of clear directions, we made our way up the stairs to a tranquil waiting area. Warmly welcomed by the staff, we felt at ease. Opted for a couple's massage with an additional 15-minute head massage. 75 minutes of pure bliss commenced with a delightful foot scrub. I received a soothing pregnancy massage while my husband enjoyed a robust massage. Time passed swiftly, and we didn't want it to end. The room was cozy, the therapists communicated effectively, and we will definitely rebook when in Auckland!!!
