In need of a hair makeover during my travels across New Zealand, a pal scheduled me an appointment at Mods Hair. I am overjoyed that she did because Mia grasped my vision perfectly and proceeded to give me the most fantastic haircut I've had in ages. All the team members were delightful, courteous, and engaging. Sadly, I won't be able to return, but only because traveling 18,000 kilometers is quite a trek for a hair appointment! I must say, it was quite a disappointing visit. Upon entering the establishment, there was no warm welcome. A young man performed my massage. Despite arriving promptly, he took his time to begin and even took a break to use the restroom during the session. There was a lack of effort and a desire to rush through the service. I paid $80 for the men's special. I do not plan on returning. The pedicure was decent, using only gel. However, the issue arose with the manicure. I usually opt for SNS nails. They suggested SNS clear base with gel on top. Unfortunately, the SNS wasn't filed smoothly or the edges weren't trimmed near the cuticles. The gel coating was thick, uneven, and didn't cover the tips completely. It started chipping off before I even reached home.
