Today I travelled up to Wellington for an important wedding in the morning and needed to look slick, looked around for a good Barber shop and after checking out two in the town found Chop Shop, 3rd time lucky. The catch? Only the apprentice was available. I rolled the dice, paid the fee, took my chances and man am I stoked! If the apprentice is that good, then the rest of the crew must be Final Boss level. From now on, If I'm traveling through Wellington I'm going to treat myself to a cut. My only regret is that I didn't tip the cadet, she deserved it, There was a hassle with the paywave (my fault) but they still came through for me. I thought I'd try a new salon in Rotorua, but left feeling let down. The person who did my nails and toes didn't wear gloves, used the same tools for both, and didn't disinfect anything. The tools were just lying around, probably used on others too. Nails cost $50, but no cuticle work was done, just shaping and gel polish. Not a fan of gyms at all, but this place has won me over. It took me a couple of attempts to walk through the door, but now I hate missing a session. We have such a great time and the workouts are always different, so there's no chance of getting bored. My golf game has improved thanks to the increased strength and stamina from the weight training. My wrist arthritis used to be painful, but it's almost gone now thanks to the exercises we do.
