Even though I understand our health system is strained, I am genuinely grateful for the promptness with which my son received urgent medical attention for his dislocated knee. The nurses and doctors were exceptional. The doctor scheduled a follow-up appointment for 3 days later, then swiftly arranged an ultrasound scan, provided us with a repeat prescription for medication, and ensured our referral to the specialist was expedited. While my son awaits this specialist appointment, I am aware that Rotorua Medical Centre did everything possible for him in a very timely manner. Discriminatory. Upon entering the shop, Your employee by the name of Sarah from Wellington (fragrance department) made me and my younger cousin feel uneasy. She approached us in a manner that was intimidating and forceful. The attitude and conduct she exhibited seemed to be based on social profiling. It’s incredibly painful and disrespectful. Saying “um so are you ladies all right” and then standing and staring to the point where it became uncomfortable and obvious that she was racially profiling us. This is not the first occurrence! It was the main reason I traveled to Wellington from Auckland, along with visiting my son and his family. I even managed to snag a photo with the Kiwi Team, which was a delightful surprise.
