On the evening of the widespread power outage in Taranaki, many folks had to rush out to purchase cooking appliances and lights to see them through the night. A kind woman, Kate, directed me to what was still available. I ended up grabbing the last $200 appliance since there were no other options. As my partner and I made our way to the checkout, we were called back. I initially thought I was in trouble, but to my surprise, Kate and her assistant Bella (I think) had found some cheaper burners in the overhead stock. She didn't have to go out of her way, but she did, saving us from spending $200 and instead only around $50. This act truly showcased her care for customers beyond just being a typical employee.
