Having been a dedicated runner for a decade, I suddenly started experiencing knee discomfort over a span of a month or two, to the point where I could hardly run. I feared that my running days might be numbered. Luckily, I discovered The Running Collective nearby and scheduled an appointment with Jeroen. Through several sessions, we identified issues in my running technique and devised exercises to address them. I swiftly returned to my usual running distance and feel like I'm running more effectively, faster, and with greater comfort than I have in a long while. Jeroen is approachable, engaging, and highly knowledgeable, and I couldn't be happier with the results. UPDATE 5/5/24: Went in for a rebook and cut package with Shannon at Aotearoa yesterday and I still love the colour we chose at the first appointment - the cut is absolutely perfect! I'd prefer fewer traffic signals in the area. Constant congestion, taking 10 minutes to cover 1 kilometre of road at any hour. We don't need more cycle lanes, we don't require year-round road constructions and fruitless schemes that squander taxpayers' funds and add nothing to the region. If it were my call, there'd be no local council and you all would be jobless, since none of you can fulfill your duties. Absolutely fabulous for a fresh studio. I am so grateful for a bikram style hot yoga spot on the Kapiti coast. The teacher situation will resolve itself. Having a lovely studio that's easily accessible is unbeatable. The space is small and can feel cramped (just another challenge to overcome), but the heating and humidity are on point. Those ice cold towels at the end are a real treat! Some members do tend to ignore the no speaking rule once inside the studio (the peaceful yoga vibe is replaced by community chatter). I would prefer to lay out my own mat, especially when there are only 6 people in the room, and some teachers need to be more mindful of their presence (like their tone of voice), focusing more on the balance of opposites in the 'hatha' yoga system rather than pushing a 'go hard' energy. Thank you for existing! This is my fourth favorite studio in all of New Zealand, and I wouldn't be surprised if it continues to improve. The owner is incredibly dedicated and caring. I got my jar of Halt Ache yesterday morn. I have Fibromyalgia and am now seeing a Chiropractor for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. My neck, shoulder, and head pain has been severe. I've only used this cream for less than a day and already I can fully stretch my neck and do my Chiro exercises with minimal pain. It instantly cools the area when applied, absorbs quickly with no lingering scents. I had a good night's sleep for the first time in weeks and woke up with no stiff, sore neck. Before we go there we were wondering if they do a good job, but after we visited, myself, my 13-month-old son, and my husband were delighted. The individuals there welcomed us warmly, even though we had a baby. They were very professional and caring towards the baby and my husband. They provided a very clean haircut for my husband, along with a tidy beard trim. They also used some delightful scents of aftershave and hair wax. Additionally, they applied some lovely hair color to my son's hair, which looked beautiful. I highly recommend this place; we will definitely be returning.
