Absolutely the worst hair color I've ever had. Do not recommend at all. When I expressed my dissatisfaction at the salon, I was given a tiny bottle of clarifying shampoo and sent away. I showed a picture and asked for cool-toned highlights and lowlights, but ended up with gray hair that makes me look older than my mum. I'm devastated and they refuse to correct it. It's embarrassing to go out now, I'll have to find another salon to fix it. Terrible customer service. Avoid at all costs, not worth the money or the trouble. The pressure was just right as I had plenty of tension to release, but they checked in frequently and would have adjusted if needed. The previous customer was delighted with their massage, and I overheard another woman praising the service once she was finished, so clearly consistent. I've been a regular at Te Whare Huruhuru hair studio for a while now, and I won't be switching salons anytime soon!! Hemi (owner) just knows how to achieve the best results, he's been like this from the beginning. He's creative and thinks outside the square while taking into account client preferences. The final outcome is always satisfying and most importantly, easy to maintain at home. Highly recommend.

I felt targeted and trapped in the lighting aisle by a rude man who accused me of theft just because I am a person of color. I had purchased items from Kmart and had the receipts to prove it, yet I was still treated unfairly. It's disheartening to see such discrimination against women of color in this small town of Nelson.
