I had sciatica mainly in my right hip, through my right thigh, down to my foot for two years with one bad 8 month stint that I could not sit at the computer and hated getting in the car. Thai massage on my back and hamstrings plus stretching over-tight thighs has reduced the pain to 1 or 2 scale and only in my foot. Very relieved about this. Noy seems to find the muscles that are sore by her fingertips and thumbs. I arrived in a week ago and wanted to book something that offered great attention to cuticle and heel work. I discussed this at the counter and booked a mani and pedi which included all these things plus a massage.
The atmosphere is truly lovely and I feel it sets a scene that leads you to expect more than what the service actually delivers.
It's been a week now and my nails are already chipping and lifting, with a lot of skin tears around my nail.
The experience felt very rushed, with 2 people working on me and an electric tool used to buff (grind) my nails. I find this approach to be quite heavy-handed and causing significant damage to the nails. My nails became really hot and it was painful.
I would recommend some training on massage as I understand it won't be lengthy but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be good. It's been a week now and my nails are already lifting and chipping. Have visited this place multiple times and had decent massages, except for my visit last week. Regrettably, I must give a 1-star rating based on that experience. I was attended to by an elderly lady, and the neck massage was excruciatingly intense. Despite requesting lighter pressure, it was still excessively forceful and caused significant discomfort. Days later, I suffered from severe neck pain, pulsating pain behind my eye, and nausea - leading me to suspect potential nerve damage. My spouse who has ALS and is already in a wheelchair took our young daughters to a pamper session that was supposed to last two hours and include hair styling, makeup, and nail care. Unfortunately, they only received one coat of nail polish. No hair styling or makeup was done. The session ended after just 1 hour and 20 minutes at most, leaving all three girls feeling very let down. The cost of the session was covered by Race4life, but we had to pay $110 for transportation as a taxi was our only option. I have a small pigment on my cheek, so I found this local Kiwi business through Google for my first-ever skin/beauty appointment. I met a consultant in early August and was quoted $165 for 3 laser visits monthly. Great. I informed the beautician I'd book in October, which I did via email. That's when things got tricky. I received an email response stating that what I was quoted was for an Autumn procedure (note autumn is April/May in NZ). Instead, I was told I needed to book derma needling for $500-700. At this point, I couldn't tell if it was incompetence or a sly upsell - who knows! So, I didn't proceed with the treatment. Ten days ago, I received a survey, likely from the 'on and off' marketing department. I raised all my concerns in it. Guess what - no response. I suppose I won't get one here either!
