I visited to have my lashes and brows done a couple of weeks ago, and the salon was completely empty, so I expected a quick service. However, the beautician arrived late and did my brows while on the phone, which I found quite rude. After finishing my brows, she made me wait even longer, still chatting on the phone in her native language and interrupting the service to talk to another staff member. She even paused for a good 5 minutes to share a story, laughing all the while. The staff were incredibly kind and the atmosphere was so soothing. I'm over the moon with the results—they did a fantastic job! My friends have already showered me with compliments. I visited a salon for a haircut. Showed the stylist a photo of the style I wanted. My hair was originally down to my waist. I agreed to a trim to chest length - around 5 inches below my shoulders. However, she cut it much shorter, above my shoulders. The style she gave me was nothing like the picture. I requested a face-framing cut with no layers at the back, but she added layers all over. I do not recommend her services at all.

I've visited Vivo Sylvia Park in the past for a simple trim with Ana, and there were no issues. That's why I decided to return yesterday. My appointment was booked for a cut and finish with Ana; however, I was attended to by another hairdresser (whose name I didn’t catch). I requested shoulder-length hair with a subtle curtain bang. I showed him three inspiration photos of what I wanted and made it clear what I didn't want: a sharp and opaque fringe look. When he began cutting the ('curtain’) bang, I thought he was working on a big section of my front hair. However, I am not an expert at haircutting, and I assumed this was the standard method for cutting curtain bangs. It went really quickly, and he was blowdrying my hair when I started feeling anxious and akward about the cut. At the moment, I thought it was because I was seeing my hair shorter after many years of having long hair. Looking back, I was in complete disbelief, and I needed to get out of there asap. Now, I'm left with an overly short and uneven opaque '70s fringe. I paid $85 for a mistake that I'll have to deal with for the next 6 months or more. I am now very self-conscious and anxious about my appearance, and I feel compelled to straighten my hair (something I've never done before) and use hair barrettes, which will likely cause further damage over time. That doesn’t even fix the mistake... My son came in for a cut today and would've requested a no1 fade. When he came home it was zero fade and about 3 on top, full on boxed... we were not happy! So u know I have a background in the industry and a fair knowledge of the trade. Couldve even done it myself but because i am his mum its not cool enough (we get it) First of all our son is a full time service missionary not a hardcore gangster. He has asperges. Then there is the thing of typical friends and family members (we all have them) who without a doubt make a mockery out of it.. younger ones.. When that happens believe me Dox Barbers, Panmure, Auckland will be the forefront of the headlines. mark my words and charged $30 for a cut that doesnt even look nice on him. Sorry but your responsible for the rude box fade and prefer the more hair on top with the natural hair line along the forehead. Went and got a haircut from here a couple days ago to completely change up my hairstyle. I've had the same haircut since I was 11 years old, now turning 18 later this year. Was pretty nervous going into it but the staff and the environment there were really friendly and super welcoming. Jess was my barber and she did an incredible job and I'm super stoked with how it turned out, her communication was flawless.
